Sudden Urge

I had a sudden urge to make a t shirt that said "Soul Sister " on it
today. So I did, using permanent markers and stamps. Probably because
my dad and I have been liking Train's new song.

On my computer this audio does not match up with the video. I can't seem to fix it, it makes it less funny sorry about that.

So for those of you who don't know, we had to pass on the cute house we were trying to close on, it turned out the place had some foundation issues and we may have been getting into more than we could handle. After much heartache and tears (mostly on my part) we are looking again...

Ash Wednesday

Today marks the beginning of the 40 days leading up to Easter, we call it Lent. During the Lenten season we are called to focus on our spiritual relationship to God and grow in faith. To help focus our minds more on God we make a resolution of some kind, either to sacrifice something you like to do (like eat McDonalds) or add something good and selfless to your life (like make breakfast for your husband). We wear ashes on our foreheads today as an outward sign that says "we believe". We also do not eat meat on Fridays during this time as an extra way to remind us that the season is not about doing exactly what you want to do , when you want to do it, but to focus on a more holy goal. I enjoy this time that is specially prescribed in the Catholic church to work on our Godliness, and therefore, our ability to love like He loves,

without selfishness.

Soooo the weekend

was fun.

We had a nice night Saturday and Meg's party was so good! I helped her out a lot with baking and cooking, we did a lot of that..

A highlight for me was faking the beautiful and poetic quotes of Shakespeare, Herman Wouk and Jane Austen and making up a cliche one to put in the mix and tricking people! It was a fun little game Meg put together involving matching quotes on the back of our name hearts...We got lazy at looking up quotes and I just decided I would make one up.

Paul and I had a lovely Valentine dinner at an adorable and dimly lit little bistro in a downtown Austin (Bess).

Subbing was pretty fun, a room full of first graders is a hoot.

We also went by the house again after Paul got off work and it is still looking awesome! So that is exciting...
