Almost Christmas!

I promise more fun pictures of baby A in the near future as we get more settled (I know you were really worried). We are just figuring more and more things out each day, it is quite an adventure...

She actually slept for 7 hours last night! It was crazy.

This sure is crazy just hanging out with my very own precious daughter, it's safe to say my routine has drastically changed, I can't wait until we make our own little routine, right now we are both still learning, but its all pretty great.

Well you probably have heard by now that we had our baby girl, Amelia Louise Yarbrough, last Thursday Dec. 1st at 1:09 am! Currently sleeping like an angel, we are amazed that she's ours and finally here to have and to have hold!

I made this advent calendar this afternoon. A hanger wrapped in fabric, then I tied the numbers to ribbons and tied them in bows, and you just untie a bow on each day, kinda cute eh?

With about a week and a half until the official due date I of course am wishing that I could meet our little one NOW! But there is just no really firm way of knowing when she will be here. So this week my plan is to continue to clean (how can I still be cleaning? because I'm nuts...) decorate for christmas more (I'm sorry thanksgiving just don't have lot of decorations for you) and sew, and see if there is ANYTHING else I should get for baby girl's arrival.

But I know I am already thinking about Christmas and trying to start buying gifts for my loved ones. Especially since when the little lady hits the scene, things will no doubt get complicated when it comes to preparing for Christmas!

I can't really reveal the things I want to get people (I already have some good ideas!), since most of you reading are going to be a recipient. But of course I can always post things I have my eye on!

Burp cloths

I've just been having fun making all these burp cloths! I started by dying the cloths different colors then sewing on scrap fabrics, easy and fun.

I was going for a vintage kids room feel, with an emphasis on red. I am pretty pleased with how it all turned out. So now one month from TODAY our little girl has a room all ready for her.

I made these curtains when the ones from PB didn't work out, definitely a good call.

The mobile and sign I made, I have done a lot of head scratching and eye squinting since I put up the sign, maybe didn't quite turn out like I was hoping. I'd love to hear your reaction (the words are a quote from a song by the Swell Season, I've had it stuck in my head since I heard it and wanted to have something in the nursery say this to baby)

this lamp shade was scored from a cute vintage shop and I turned it into a pendant lamp

the beautiful books Meg gave me, kind of served as inspiration for the room!

A busy week

Lots on the books this week, except I don't have a job, so that helps...

A couple weekends ago Paul and I decided to take a little mini trip somewhere, and we ended up going to Tyler because we saw there was a rose festival going on. We had a pretty good time!
