Saturday night

Thanks to an awesome Grandma Tina and Papa Brit, Paul and I got to go out and celebrate Justin's 30th Birthday! we love this guy...

 

We went to Smoke restaurant at the Belmont Hotel, We have been wanting to go there for sometime now so we were excited! It was delicious 

 

Paul got " the big rib," that's exactly what it was, yes people that is one XXXL rib!

It really felt so good to get a chance to just be out with my hubby, havin a couple drinks and relaxing. This was my first time to be at a bar in probably like 9 months or more, it was crazy! We had a really great time so thank you again Tina and Barry. Amelia was a good girl and stayed asleep in her bed through the night that night causing no trouble for the grandparents AND letting mommy sleep through the night when we got back too.

SO I wanted to buy these little hair clips from Anthropologie, they have a little clip in the back so you could put them on headband or just on your hair. I thought "oh my gosh how pretty would this be on a little headband for Amelia!"

but at $15, I held off and said I would try to make one. Here's how it turned out...

 

pretty cute! I'll post a pic of A wearing it soon. I just used things I already had. I sewed together a layer of fabric, vinyl, then fabric, to give it some stiffness, then glued on the trim. I cut a tiny slit in the back and stuck a little hair clip in there.

This is a fun little pattern, super easy and a great way to make use of extra fabric. hardly even a skirt really (at least the one I made) more like a decoration. but cute!

TV! *

haven't mentioned this much before but around here, paul and I GET DOWN on some TV WATCHING. After Boobus goes to bed we like to enjoy an hour or two of our favorite shows, or try out new shows. A series that just started on HBO called "Girls" is a new favorite. It is only two episodes in and it is really hitting the nail on the head for "my generation". On HBO  so of course there's plenty of naughty bits, but it's more amusing than obnoxiously gratuitous. heres a link to a little preview/behind the scenes from last night's episode.

* let me expand: It's not the particular subject matter I'm referring to, (I'm not a fan of promiscuity or abortions). I'm just finding the relationships and communication style featured in this show both amusing and strangely familiar. for me. 

Today I am

thinking about the rest of week! so far the plans are:
go to Wal-Mart today and see what there is to see, maybe a couple new beach towels for our trip to FL coming up?
make a little invite for Amelia's baptism and e mail out to family and friends, and start making her dress for the occasion!
plan a dinner and cook one night, (always a goal, often doesn't happen)

Amelia just ate her fruit for the morning. I made that bib! And we are practicing with her sippy cup, got a ways to go on that...

Just made a fresh batch of baby food, banana, peaches and pears. She loved it!

hoping to get to some chocolate chip cookies made today, found a recipes online that looks amaze...

you know we got some laundry to do...

was playing with some plain white tanks for A yesterday, pretty cute!

Amelia had her bath this morning, she loves her bath...

I'm still fighting the crud, and praying that my sense of smell and taste come back (I've had only a few moments of clarity over the past 5 days...)

obviously I'm still in my pajamas and looking a fright (why would i post such a gross pic of myself? not sure, just to give you the whole picture i guess)

and Boobus is down for her morning nap! which is happening kind of early today, she got up early this morning....

And there it is, a typical morning as Sarah-Louise Yarbrough, stay-at-home mom extraordinaire. to the stars.

A couple details from Amy's shower

thanks to my sister and Paul for helping so much on Friday and Saturday the shower turned out great! We had stuffed mushrooms, chicken nachos, vanilla cake sandwiches and plenty of champagne! And of course tootsie is always present and showing off her cuteness during events at the Yarbrough house.

today i am

not feeling so great. Most of you know that I have these sinus and coughing issues due to what i thought was allergies. well I went to the allergy doc on Tuesday and it turns out, I don't have allergies. ? So I am trying out this nasal spray and hoping that it will help my "rhinitis" which is i guess what you call allergy symptoms when they are not allergies. So yesterday and today it seems like things have gotten worse, my throat is killin, I got so much mucus in my chest and I just feel yucky. I hate it bc over all I am a pretty healthy gal! and I hate that these symptoms interfere with my life on a daily basis. so lame.

And I really need my energy right now! We are giving my brother's fiance Amy a shower tomorrow at my house that I'm so excited about and I gotta get this house clean and make food etc. Which is one of my favorite activities, but it takes energy. not to mention taking care of miss A. IT'S A LOT OF WORK!

Thank goodness Meg is coming over today to help.

Also every time I look in the mirror I'm like "ew", I could use a little beauty maintenance.

Beach Towel!

can't wait for our trip to Florida in about a month with our friends Katie and Paul and their 9 month old Everett. I made him a beach towel, I made A one too, but hers was kind of the test subject, and E's is much cuter.

A new dress and a picnic

I made myself a new dress last week. The fabric is Liberty of London (treat yo' self). It turned out pretty good! I took a bunch of pics modeling it while Amelia was napping...

My sister will no doubt give me tons of grief for posting these silly pictures.

and this dress will be great for when there is another you-know-what on the way!

Then we took ourselves to the park for a picnic, ha! look at A's face in this one....

I have her hat all goofy so it would shade her face...

Hope you all had a great Easter weekend! We had some lovely songs to sing in the choir at church yesterday, thanks to my mom for surprising me and coming to hear me sing!

4 months

Amelia has been impressing Mommy and Daddy the past few weeks by rolling onto her back from her tummy, and then rolling onto her side, (a little wiggle worm in her crib now). She has begun to eat rice cereal from a spoon and is tolerating it, hopefully she will start to like it soon. Most of all we love it when this little girl gets her giggles going, we are always trying to catch it on camera when she gets her little "ha-ha-hahahaha's" going. It's so much fun!
