New Dresses

The thing is,

I definitely want to practice and become a skilled seamstress, but there is something to be said for cute dresses already made!

Especially when they cost 12 dollars like this pink one.

There are still like 32 days until we move in (assuming everything goes to plan) and i have already decorated the entire house in my head...dangit.

Subbing was pretty fun, a room full of first graders is a hoot.

We also went by the house again after Paul got off work and it is still looking awesome! So that is exciting...

I went to JoAnn yetserday and really struggled over what fabric to get, and got some blue and white seersucker-ish fabric to make a long flowy skirt. So I ripped into it today and now i am pretty much done and it looks dumb. DANGIT. I think my crafting success level is about 65 percent good, 35 percent bad.

Sewing clothes=difficult

In other news I got a manicure 10 bucks the other day.

I covered a canvas with fabric and ribbon and made this cute thing
last night.

Wore my new skirt today!

Skirt in 34 minutes

Got my fabric, same grey jersey I have been using.

(stretch is key)

cut out a waistband

2 long pieces sewn together

pin sewn waistband to main skirt fabric

check fit

sew pieces together and cut hem

and there you have it

another layering piece!

boxes at Tuesday morning and bought a few!
This is one of my favorite bridal portraits and I thought this was a
suitable way to display it.

So easy!

The construction of this dress involves two pieces of fabric, and 4 seams. I used a pattern and just skipped all the tricky little extras. Since I used jersey, I don't have to worry about fraying. Now I have a lovely little T-shirt dress, ripe for accessorizing!
