San Francisco trip, part 1: breakfast and biking

Friday was spent in San Fran, biking across the bridge in the chilly mist, and walking around Sausalito and then back to SF for the afternoon. here's the first bit...

 

too hard to choose! so i just went with pancakes, they were great,

ps, Amelia behaved, slept and ate wonderfully for my parents. I was so thankful! and i missed her tons but happy to report I was able to enjoy myself. She punished me a bit yesterday for being gone by being tad more grumpy than usual, but hopefully we will find our groove again today. I'm glad she had an opportunity to be around different faces all weekend I think it was good for her.

A trip!

My folks offered to watch Amelia for a whole weekend, so Paul and I decided to take advantage and go out to San Francisco for a couple days. We are going to see Will and Amanda in Santa Cruz and hang out in SF! I've never been, I'm excited.

So......

I'M LEAVING AMELIA FOR THE FIRST TIME. I'M FREAKING OUT A LITTLE BIT.

I made a little schedule for my folks to use, which is funny bc we have probably never had two days of an identical routine, but i just liked the idea of making one, and it should help.

i already thought of like a thousand more things i felt i should add or elaborate on, as you can see the notes section got a bit long...

So excited about this dress! Amelia will wear it to my friend Jordan's wedding in November. Full of little mistakes (and shortcuts) as usual but it's complete! And I'm in love with the fabric.

first, put your baby down for her nap, then (important) neglect brushing your teeth or changing out of your pajamas, making cute clothes for your baby is much more important. 

1. get a plain T shirt from target, and cute fabric, and fusible interfacing.

2. Fuse your fabric to the interfacing so it is nice and stiff. Draw the shape of the collar onto fabric and trace where you will cut out the pattern.

3.  Cut out your pattern times 2 and then sew right sides together along your drawn lines (I kind of messed this part up but it turned out ok)

4. Turn your collar right side out, press, and sew onto the shirt

5. press it down

6. when your baby wakes up put the shirt on her and take her picture!

My Niece, SHE is here!

Meg and Mark welcomed their daughter, Adela ( pronounced uh-day-luh ) on Tuesday morning. Amelia and I came back home from visiting earlier today and I miss her already! She is darling, and Meg is doing wonderfully. I have some more photos to post later on.
